A common comparison

Blood biomarkers or epigenetic testing?

Both approaches estimate aspects of biological aging, but they analyze different signals. They should not be treated as interchangeable - or as diagnostic tests.

How practical is repeat testing?

Is it diagnostic?

No. It is a lifestyle-oriented model, not a medical diagnosis.

No. A commercial epigenetic-age result is not itself a medical diagnosis.

Which approach is better?

Neither is universally superior. A routine blood-biomarker assessment may suit someone seeking an accessible lifestyle overview using familiar laboratory data. Epigenetic testing may suit someone specifically interested in a DNA-methylation-based estimate. Results from different methods should not be expected to match.

Evidence & limitations

A model is useful only when its limits are understood.

Biological-aging clocks are statistical models developed from population data. Different clocks use different inputs and may produce different estimates for the same person. A result can be affected by the completeness and quality of the submitted laboratory data.
