A 60-second explanation

Stem cells, explained simply.

We keep it light here on purpose. Schedule a conversation with us if you would like to explore the science, treatment options and practical considerations in greater depth.

01

What are stem cells?

Stem cells are cells with the ability to renew themselves and develop into certain other cell types. Different kinds of stem cells have different capabilities.

02

How might they help?

Many regenerative treatments focus less on replacing tissue directly and more on the signals cells release - signals that may influence inflammation, immune activity and the environment around damaged tissue.

03

What are MSCs?

Most treatments discussed here use mesenchymal stromal or stem cells, usually shortened to MSCs. They are multipotent cells, not embryonic pluripotent stem cells.

04

What are they not?

They are not magical replacement parts and they cannot promise to rebuild the body or reverse aging. Their relevance depends on the objective, preparation and individual case.

The question nearly every client asks

Are MSCs safe?

Published clinical research has reported a generally favourable safety profile for MSCs. But that does not make every cell product, provider or treatment protocol equally safe.

Donor and source

Screening, traceability and suitability of the source.

02

Laboratory standards

Quality systems, manufacturing environment and appropriate accreditation.

03

ImagineHealth evaluates the complete treatment pathway - not only the cell count.

Our due diligence considers the laboratory, cell preparation, documentation, physician, treatment environment and logistics before we facilitate access.

Why travel for treatment?

Why clients come to Thailand for stem-cell treatment.

For many international clients, travelling is about accessing regenerative options that may be unavailable, restricted or substantially more expensive in their home country.

Access to selected allogeneic MSC options

Thailand may offer treatment pathways that are difficult to access in the client's home market.

A developed regenerative ecosystem

Established laboratories, physicians and treatment providers operate across regenerative and cellular medicine.

International medical infrastructure

Modern private healthcare facilities and strong hospitality infrastructure support international treatment journeys.

Competitive treatment pricing

Laboratory preparation, physician-led treatment and local support may be available at materially lower prices.

Availability in Thailand does not automatically mean a treatment is suitable, proven for every objective or approved in the client's home country. Medical assessment and informed consent remain essential.

Other conditions people ask about

A growing field with highly personalised possibilities.

Stem cells are being investigated across an expanding range of medical conditions, supported by a growing body of research and clinical interest. People living with chronic neurological, autoimmune, metabolic or inflammatory conditions may therefore wish to explore whether a cell-based approach could be relevant to their case.

Facilitation may be possible, but it must begin with a thorough review of the diagnosis, medical history, current treatment and available evidence by an appropriate partner physician. These enquiries are highly personalised, so we encourage you to contact us.

An enquiry is not an indication. Mention on this page does not mean that stem cells are approved, suitable or proven effective for a condition.

Questions clients ask before treatment

Straight answers to common stem-cell concerns.

Understand the evidence, safety considerations, limitations and questions that should be addressed before deciding.

Do stem cells really work?+

There is no single answer for every objective. Evidence varies by cell type, preparation, route and intended use. A responsible conversation distinguishes promising research from established care and does not guarantee an outcome.

Could they increase cancer risk?+

Cancer concerns require individual medical review. Product characteristics, manufacturing, medical history and the proposed use all matter. A personal or family cancer history should be disclosed before any treatment decision.

Can donor-derived MSCs be rejected?+

MSCs have immune-modulating properties, but this should not be simplified into a universal no-rejection claim. Donor screening, manufacture, route and recipient factors still matter.

Are more cells necessarily better?+

No. Dose matters, but so do identity, viability, route, objective and protocol. A headline cell count cannot establish that one offer is superior.

Why are treatments not approved everywhere?+

Regulation differs by country and intended use. Availability in Thailand does not establish suitability, effectiveness or approval in another jurisdiction.

Why can quotations differ so much?+

Cell quantity, preparation, physician and facility fees, route, imaging, supporting procedures, commercial layers and optional additions can all materially change the price.
