Questions people ask
Useful answers before making a decision.
Is HBOT only used for wound care?+
No. HBOT has a range of recognized medical indications. It is also being studied for additional neurological, recovery and healthy-aging applications, but the strength of evidence differs by objective.
Has HBOT been shown to lengthen telomeres?+
A small prospective study in adults aged 64 and older reported increased telomere length in certain blood-cell populations and fewer senescent immune cells after 60 sessions. It is an interesting signal, not proof that HBOT reverses whole-body aging or that occasional sessions will reproduce the result.
What does ATA mean?+
ATA means atmospheres absolute. It describes total pressure, including normal atmospheric pressure at sea level. Pressure is one of the variables that defines the treatment dose.
What is a BIBS?+
BIBS means built-in breathing system. In a multiplace chamber, it delivers oxygen through a mask or hood while the chamber itself may be pressurized with air. The design, fit and oxygen delivery all matter.
Is a home chamber equivalent to a clinical chamber?+
Not necessarily. Maximum pressure, chamber construction, oxygen delivery, certification, maintenance and supervision can differ substantially. A home system should be assessed against its intended use rather than selected from a headline pressure or influencer endorsement.
